Some people are devoted to their families, that’s wonderful. Other people are devoted to their partner, or to their work, that’s powerful too. But there’s a kind of devotion that was often spoken of in our more-religious past, but which our modern culture has discarded along with most other aspects of the old religious ways. And that is devotion to the God within; the source of strength, the source of beauty, the source of all life. It’s tragic that such devotion has become so scarce, because it has so many benefits.

To be devoted to THIS one is to tap into a source of unlimited energy, unlimited strength and ever-present guidance. Devotion can feel like resting in the arms of the Great Mother in times of intense challenge. Wouldn’t that be something you’d want to do? Devotion can be like finding shelter from a storm with a wise and loving protector. Wouldn’t that be an obvious choice? If you had found the inner friend, wouldn’t it be your greatest pleasure to spend time with them?
